News from Suz

Welcome to News from Suz. This blog is my attempt to creatively communicate and exhibit the works of God in my life as well as what He's teaching me through them. It also keeps my partners and prayer-warriors in ministry up to date and in the loop. Be sure to check back every week or so for the latest updates.

Photos & Highlights - WHBC Fusion

Last Wednesday, the 3-day Vacation Bible School began at the church in San Juan.  Below, the team is pictured praying with the leaders before greeting the droves of neighborhood children who attended.

Two of the team members are sitting here with their group (trying to entertain them in Spanglish) before the program officially begins.

On Thursday we took the team on an over-night free day so they could see a little more of Costa Rica.  After driving through the cloud forrest we arrived at our first destination, a canopy tour (zip lines).
After donning our hard hats and other gear, we took turns being hooked onto cables and zipped our way through the rain forrest.  The youth Pastor and some of the team members are pictured above and I am pictured below with two of the leaders, Elaine and Mariano.
On Saturday we held an outreach event to which the students in the Tico youth group invited their non-Christian friends.  The youth group is relatively small so when I heard that 65 students were on the bus en route to the Multiplication Center, my jaw dropped slightly.  We had a day filled with games, food, fun and ended with a presentation of the Gospel.  God used that presentation to add 16 high school age Costa Ricans to His kingdom!  Praise God!  You can see the group pictured below in the upstairs portion of our new training building.
