Women's Event - Transformation

On Saturday afternoon, we had our last women's event of the year at the Pastor's new house. His wife, Ana Luisa, is pictured above with their son, Santiago. They are an amazing family and have been a real blessing to me. Please be praying for Ana Luisa as she leaves for a 6-day missions trip this Wednesday.

Julia, a woman from the church who has an incredible testimony, shared from 1 Samuel about the story of Hannah. She did an excellent job giving us the historical and cultural context of the passage, guiding us through the text and helping us see Hannah's amazing transformation. I was impacted by a few different things as I listened to the talk: 1) how much Hannah's husband loved her for who she was, 2) how Hannah gave up the very thing she asked for and received, 3) how she recognized the importance of the Giver of the gift.

Speaking of transformations, there is one woman pictured above who has been completely transformed over the last several months. When I first met her she was going through a difficult season in life and it showed. The lines on her face were etched in a stern, frown-like way making her seem almost incapable of a smile. Then one day I saw her at church with a beautiful, bright smile. Her whole face lit up. God had changed some circumstances in her life, had drawn her closer to Himself and had essentially transformed her. She has been glowing ever since. Praise God for His transforming power in our lives!
